Owing to the Arctic conditions. the Find Your Talent performance at The Customs House this Sunday has been cancelled but we’ll be firing up the Worldbeaters Music snow plough so the session will be on as normal tonight, see you then!
Thank you to everyone from Custom Beats who performed on New Years Eve, YOU GUYS ROCK! check out the nye drumming website for links to photos and video.
Yes, you heard it, a winter carnival! We’ll be parading through the snow like it’s Rio de Janeiro!
We’ll be setting up a web page so you can find out more and see an instructional video on the rhythms we’ll be playing, but for now here’s the rehearsal dates and location (nearest Metro is Jesmond).
The rehearsals will take place at The Old Sinfonia Centre, 41 Jesmond Vale NE2 1PG (opposite the Bluebell pub) on the following dates:
To take part you must be able to make at least 3 of the rehearsals.
This Sunday 8th November we’ll be performing live, unplugged and strapped in at the Customs House 15th Birthday Show
The gig starts at 7pm in the main theatre, we’ll be on at 7:30pm (after The Customs House Big Band) and we’ll play for 10 minutes.
Be there at 6pm so we can check the lie of the land, have a quick run through and get our shiny new t-shirts on!
It’s BUY ONE GET ONE FREE on tickets for performers so get down the box office and buy loads for friends and family!
From Wednesday 23rd October Custom Beats will start at 6:30pm and end at 8:30pm
Guys it was fantastic to be back playing tonight with you all. And thanks for all smiling AT THE SAME TIME!
See you Sunday. Chris
Hi All,
it’s that time of year again! I hope you’ve all been in training for the samba drumming equivalent of doing the Great North Run!
What?
==========
It is a drumming marathon and it fantastic fun. We play, and play, and play! It’s as much of an extended practice and picnic as it is a performance, so we’ll just work out what we’re going to play on the day. So if you’ve not played for a bit, don’t worry.
When?
==========
This Sunday – 20th September 2009
Meet at 9.30am, play till we hit the wall! Around 1:30-2pm
BBC TV coverage starts at 9:30 so we need to be ready in case the cameras come by.
Where?
==========
The Leas on the A183 Coast Road.
We’ll be in a small marquee near at a bus stop between Gypsies Green and Souter Lighthouse
Parking
==========
There is a footpath from Hertford Avenue down to the bus stop. You can park on Herford Avenue and this avoids all the road closures.
There are car parks on the A183 and we have car passes but you would need to be there by 8:30 am and may not get out until after the race has finished.
Metro
==========
The nearest Metro is Chichester
Food
==========
Bring loads! There’s no where nearby to get food so bring sandwiches, flasks of coffee etc. and warm clothes.
Let me know if you can make it (so we have an idea of numbers) or if you have any questions.
See you Sunday!
Yes folks, we’re talking t-shirts, the works! We’ll be back on Wednesday 9th September at 7:15pm, so start limbering up for the Great North Run. If you know anyone who’d like to join the group (or anyone who wouldn’t) then drag them along too! See you on the 9th,
Alex
