An international show, wherever you are

Spark! tours as a compact team of five performers and one director, who is also our technician, and everything the show needs travels with us. Once dates and a fee are agreed, we settle the flights together, you provide the hotel, local transport and meals, and we arrive show-ready. We have done this in more than 40 countries, so the path is well worn and we will guide you along it.

As ordinary hold luggage on ordinary flights. Every drum, costume and piece of lighting is designed to pack into regular suitcases, so there is no freight to arrange and nothing to clear separately. For the standard team of six that means twelve bags: two 23kg bags per person, or 35kg per person on airlines that allow by weight, such as Emirates.

Flights come first, because prices and baggage rules change quickly. We agree the most suitable flights together, then either you book and pay for them directly, or you transfer the cost to us and we book them ourselves. We fly from Newcastle unless we agree otherwise.

Rooms in a good quality hotel for the duration of our stay, close to the venue. Twin or single rooms are both fine.

Either all meals for the team for the duration of the stay, or a daily per diem in place of them. On performance days the meal should be served around three hours before the first show.

For a single performance we fly in the day before, perform on the day, and fly home the day after. That gives us time to walk the performance space and run the show through, and it keeps the day itself calm. For longer engagements we plan the days with you.

No. We quote a fee for the performance itself, and travel is handled separately: flights as above, then hotel, local transport and meals or per diems provided by you. It keeps the fee honest and the travel costs transparent, and it is how every international organiser we work with prefers it.

Yes. Spark! has done everything from a single evening abroad to a 42-day run in Dubai, and back-to-back cities in between. For a longer run we shape the number and length of sets with you, day by day.

Rarely, because we have done this many times. Where a visa, work permit or invitation letter is needed, you provide the supporting paperwork and we make the applications. We flag anything time-sensitive the moment the booking is confirmed.

The same as anywhere. A secure, heated or air-conditioned space of at least 6m x 6m close to the performance area to prepare the show, access to it about five hours before the first performance, transport between hotel and venue for the team and equipment, and a walk-through of the performance space before we play. The sound and the lighting travel with the performers, so there is nothing for you to rig. Full technical specification on request.

Yes. The illuminated drums and costumes come into their own at dusk and after dark, but Spark! is live street theatre first and it works in full daylight. Many organisers book afternoon sets and an evening finale.
